Ladysmith Fisherman's Wharf Serving Central Vancouver Island
Waypoint: 49 Deg. North and 123.48 Deg. West
Welcome to Ladysmith Fisherman's Wharf! My name is Ken Bryski and I've been the harbour manager since July 2005.
Before this I spent close to 40 years fishing and working in the commercial marine industry around Vancouver Island. This website is a guide to those who fish, sail, travel or just want to enjoy the marine environment around Ladysmith BC and the Vancouver Island area.
At Our Facility...
Ladysmith Fisherman's Wharf provides well-protected moorage for up to 100 boats. Centrally located on the east coast of Vancouver Island we're primarily a wintering home for our local commercial fishing fleet, although we also cater to a growing number of pleasure craft during the summer months.
Fisherman's Wharf is a great place to stop overnight or while waiting for the tide at Dodd's narrows if you're traveling north from the US west coast. We have a new office complex, which houses public washrooms, showers and laundry facilities.
...And Around the Town
Just a short walk from our dock is a grocery and liquor store. Rich in history, the Ladysmith waterfront is a fun place to explore. Walking south along the shoreline you'll discover one of the prettiest beaches on Vancouver Island. Transfer Beach Park has playgrounds for the children, picnic areas and covered barbecue pits. An outdoor amphitheatre provides several shows during the summer.
Ladysmith Days celebration at the end of July every year brings logger sports, parades, fireworks and many other activities that are a must to see.
When planning your next boating holiday, be sure to include an extended stay at Ladysmith Fisherman's Wharf and discover all Vancouver Island has to offer.
